DMI – Commando Crawling by Arms

Initial Position: Child lies in prone across the table from you, with legs on the table, head towards you and feet away from you.

Movement: Shift the child’s weight to one side (Left) and help them reach forwards slightly with the unweighted arm (Right). Shift the child’s weight onto that arm (Right) and pull the child forwards by giving pressure through the arm so that the shoulder moves directly over the elbow. Wait for the child to assist the movement before completing it together with them, if
possible. Move the other unweighted arm (Left) forwards and repeat until the child has moved across the table.

Outcomes: trunk control, lower body strength, commando crawling
