DMI – Floating in Hands From Prone on Table

Initial Position: Child lies prone on the table, head away from you and feet towards you just off the edge of the table. Have someone stand to the side of you to spot you.

Movement: Slowly pull the child down further off the table, with alternating pull and pressure up through the legs ensuring that the child is maintaining knee extension. When only the child’s arms remain on the table and they are activating knee, hip and trunk extension, lift them into the air up and away from the table.

Outcomes: verticality, static standing, trunk control, leg extension, functional extension
