DMI – Four Point by 1 hand on Mid Trunk/Chest

Initial Position: Child lies prone with legs on the table, head towards your left, feet to your right.

Movement: With slight pressure up towards the ceiling, wait for the child to use their arms to push up. Give some pressure on the left shin up and in towards the trunk so that the hip and knee slide forward on the surface and flexes, bringing that knee directly under the hip. Wait for the right hip and knee to flex so that the child is in a four point position. If the child assumes four point. To encourage assuming a four point position, rock forwards and backwards 10 x in this position.

Outcomes: trunk control, four point kneeling, hip strength
