DMI – Knees Against Chest Sit Straight Up

Initial Position: Child lies supine, perpendicular to your chest, with knees bent at the edge of the table.

Movement: Using your right hand slightly lift the child’s head and trunk up off the table and stand up so that they are suspended in a horizontal position. Maintaining firm stability at the knees wait for the child to activate neck and trunk flexion and attempt to sit up. Move together with the child towards sitting as you support this motion with your right hand until the child is sitting up facing you.

Outcomes: trunk control
