Initial Position: Child lies prone, perpendicular to your chest, head towards you and feet
away from you.

Movement: Press into the shoulder, lift the child up slightly and slide hands directly
under the shoulders onto the table. Maintain pressure down through the child’s hands. Rock the child forwards ten times over the hands. Wait for the child to flex the hips and knees into a 4 point crawl position. Guide the child back over the left hip into side sitting using your right hand, keeping the both hands in contact with the table. Then slide hands
back into side sitting. Wait for the child to open the right hip into ring
sitting and release the child’s right hand. Release both hands if they are able to maintain independent sitting.

Outcomes: trunk control, trunk rotation, independent sitting, independent transition to sitting, weightbearing through arms, lower abdominal strengthening
