DMI – Prone to Four Point to Squat to Stand by Thighs

Hold: Hold the child’s thighs with your thumbs on the posterior thighs.

Movement: Hold the right ankle and bend the child’s right hip and knee up under the child and place the right foot flat on the table. Move your right hand to the child’s right thigh, fingers on top of the thigh and thumb under the thigh. Repeat with the left leg so that the child is in a squatting position. Move the child slightly back over the feet. Give a slight forwards and upwards pressure with your hands and wait 10 seconds.

Outcomes: trunk control, leg extension, trunk extension, functional extension, verticality, transition to standing
