DMI – Trunk Extension by Low Abdomen

Initial Position: Child lies prone, perpendicular to your chest,
head away from you and feet towards you.

Movement: Stand up. Slowly and firmly roll your forearm up
as you lean backwards. Do not slide your arm. Keep your left arm still and firm. The child lifts head and extends trunk together with you until the head and trunk are upright. The exercise is complete when the child is either in full upright extension or when they rest their head on your right shoulder.

Outcomes: verticality, trunk extension, trunk control
