DMI – Trunk Extension by Low Abdomen to Stand In Superman Pose on Thighs

Initial Position: Child lies prone, perpendicular to your chest, head away from you and feet towards you.

Movement: Stand up. Slowly and firmly roll your forearm up as you lean backwards. Do not slide your arm. Keep your left arm still and firm. The child lifts head and extends trunk together with you until the head and trunk are upright in full upright extension. Bend your knees slightly. Slide the child’s feet down onto your thighs. Move the child away from your body so that they are standing in a forwards incline (Increasing the exposure to gravity). Continue to maintain the pressure in and up with
your upper hand that will be on the child’s lower trunk. Hold this
position for up to 60 counts.

Outcomes: trunk extension, leg extension, bilateral lower body weightbearing
