Preemie and Infant Development

Whether you are concerned with potential torticollis and plagiocephaly, or concerned with your infant’s development, Therahappy is here to help. Services are for NICU grads and infants 0-3 years of age, who may or may not be receiving early childhood intervention (ECI), but need a little boost in their therapy services.

This program is perfect for the NICU grad who needs a focused therapy program for development.

If your child is receiving ECI, your child can also still receive additional occupational therapy services in clinic, in home, or virtually.

Infant Development Occupational Therapy Services include:

  • Attaining gross motor milestones such as rolling, crawling, sitting, walking
  • Addressing fine motor issues such as clenched fist, reaching and grasping issues, difficulty engaging with environment
  • Addressing visual motor and visual perceptual deficits
  • Conservative treatment for torticollis and plagiocephaly
  • Integrating retained reflexes
  • Addressing absent postural reflexes (a child’s response with outstretched arms when they are falling)
  • Neurodevelopmental therapy to address muscle tone issues – hypotonia, hypertonia, athetosis
  • Intensive therapy using Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) methods
  • Caregiver education and customized home program
