TASES (Task Specific Electrical Stimulation)

What is TASES therapy?

TASES combined with DMI

TASES is an evidence-based approach using task-specific neuromuscular stimulation (NMES) to help the child with motor dysfunction improve in functional motor tasks, learning and control as well as muscle strength and range of motion.

At Therahappy we combine TASES with engaging and motivating movements and activities. Sensory and motor neural networks are activated with this electrical stimulation, with the goal of teaching the child how to use their muscles.

Children with these diagnoses benefit greatly from TASES

Cerebral Palsy
Hypotonia
Idiopathic Toe Walking • Spina Bifida
Genetic Conditions
Scoliosis
Arthrogryposis
Neuromuscular and movement conditions

We recommend the Chattanooga Continuum kit, but we have also Saebo with good results. We guide the parents who wish to continue e-stim at home on specific parameters and which muscles to attach the electrodes to for specific tasks and functions.
